Torque is a turning force being used to rotate an object or to stop an object from rotating.
The magnitude of torque is calculated as the product of the applied force and the length of the lever arm connecting the axis of rotation of the lever to the point of force application and for this reason torque has dimensions of force times distance.
In the International System of units torque is measured is newton meter (N·m).
These online unit converters are designed to support fast and accurate conversion among several units of torque, from one system into another.
